John E. "Jack" Standish, 76, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Sunday, December 11, 2016. He was the husband of Margaret H. (Lombardi) Standish. Born in Stoughton, he was a graduate of Stoughton High School and Quincy Trade School. Jack was an Electrician's Mate Petty Officer 2nd Class in the U.S. Navy and a Veteran of the Vietnam Era. He also belonged to the U.S.S. Intrepid Former Crew Members Association. Jack was a Master Electrician and Facilities Manager at Sarnafil Inc. in Canton, where he worked for 26 years. He was a member of the Easton Rod and Gun Club for 50 years. He was an avid New York Giants fan and enjoyed gardening, hunting, snowmobiling and camping in Maine.
In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by his daughters, Sheila McCulley of Taunton and Janice E. Naimy and her husband Fred of Salem, as well as his grandson, William McCulley. He was the brother of Myles W. "Bill" Standish of Stoughton, Judy Haynes of Boylston, Priscilla O'Brien of Falmouth, Chace Standish and Gary Standish both of Melbourne, FL. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, December 15 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Dry Pond Cemetery, Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's memory may be made to the U.S.S.
