John R. Souza

John R. Souza, 68, died Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Azevedo) Souza. Born and raised in Fall River, he attended Diman Technical High School in Fall River. Mr. Souza was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, where he served in Vietnam. He worked at the VA Hospital in Brockton for many years as a Psychiatric Aide, retiring several years ago. He was a member of the VFW and Amvets in Stoughton. In his free time, he enjoyed watching westerns and doing crossword puzzles.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Brenda Siipola of Fall River, Chrissie Hino and her husband Clyde of Somerset, Andrea Sousa of RI, Kimberly Souza and her husband Mark Morency of CT and John P. Sousa of Stoughton. He was the brother of the late Edward Souza, Lorraine Rogers and Irene Nadeau. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and his two good friends, Dennis Large and Gary Barkey and several other friends.
Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Sunday, January 25, at 5 PM. Visiting Hours prior to the prayers from 2-5 PM. Donations in John's memory may be made to the Veteran's Organization of one's choice.
