John D. Shackleton Jr., 77, died unexpectedly Sunday, February 12 at the Morton Hospital in Taunton. He was the husband of Alice M. (Levy) Shackleton. Born in Stewartstown, NH, he was educated in Stewartstown Schools. Mr. Shackleton was a Veteran of the US Army during the Korean Era. He was a resident of Taunton for less than a year, previously living in Brockton, Stoughton and Deltona, FL. He worked as a designer at Stoughton Elastic Web in Stoughton for many years. Mr. Shackleton was a member of AARP and enjoyed playing the piano, organ and accordion in his free time.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three sons, Michael L. and his wife Cynthia of Mansfield, John D. Shackleton III of Taunton and Kenneth A. Shackleton of Lowell. He also leaves his sisters Ivalee Humphreys of Carver and Ruth Lincoln of NH. He was the grandfather of Matthew and Joshua Shackleton.
Funeral Services will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday Night at 8 PM. Visiting Hours prior to service from 5-8 PM.
