John M. Romanick, 67, died Tuesday, October 28, at the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood after a long battle with cancer. He was the husband of Susan J. (Page) Romanick. Born in Brockton, he was a lifelong resident of Stoughton and a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1959. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator and Crane Operator for Shaughnessy Crane in Boston for over 10 years, retiring over 15 years ago. Previously, he worked for Stanley Gill in Stoughton and Robert Hamilton in Easton for several years. He was a member of the Hoisters Union. In his free time, he enjoyed boating and Nascar Racing.
In addition to his wife Susan, he is survived by his two sons, Nicholas J. Romanick and John D. Romanick, both of Stoughton. He was the brother of Richard J. Romanick and Joanne M. Romanick both of Stoughton. He was the brother-in-law of Sarah Baker. He is also survived by one granddaughter and his niece Aliya Lakha.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, November 3 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday 2-6 PM. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
