John A. "Pete" Pietersen, Jr., 66, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Tuesday, June 2. He was the husband of the late Madeline A. (Walsh) Pietersen. Born and raised in South Boston, he was a graduate of South Boston High School, Class of 1960. He was a resident of Stoughton for the past 36 years. Mr. Pietersen was a truck driver with United Liquors for 38 years and a member of the Local 653 before retiring 8 years ago. He was a youth hockey coach in South Boston and then Stoughton for many years. He enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time with his family.
Mr. Pietersen is survived by his children, John A. Pietersen, III of Stoughton, Karyn A. Romano and her husband Robert of Mansfield and James Pietersen and his wife Rhonda L. of Norton, as well as his grandchildren, Jessica and Olivia Pietersen and Daniel and Julie Romano. He is also survived by his sister, Lillian Sulfaro of S. Boston and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Saturday, June 6 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Friday 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Donations in John's name may be made to American Heart Assn., 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
