John M. "Jack" Krone, 86, died Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Morton Hospital in Taunton after a period of failing health. He was the husband of 62 years of Jacqueline E. "Jackie" (Ensign) Krone. Born in Chicago, he was raised and educated in Chicago and was a graduate of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a World War II Veteran of the US Army and the US Naval Reserve. Mr. Krone was a resident of Dedham for over 50 years. He worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance in Boston and Weston for over 40 years and retired as the Assistant Vice President and General Manager of the Commercial Line Underwriting Department. An avid golfer, he was a longtime member of Norfolk Golf Club in Westwood and achieved two holes-in-one over his golfing career. He was also a longstanding member of the Masons. He was a dedicated father and beloved grandfather who loved cars, working in his yard and collecting political pins.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Jay and his wife Donna of Lakeville and his grandchildren, Janelle M. Krone and John J. Krone. He was the brother of the late William Krone and also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, October 26 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours prior to the services from 9-11 AM. Donations in Jack's Memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, 02472.
