John G. Leoffler

John G. Leoffler, 52, a resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly at home on Friday, June 24. He was the husband of Barbara M. (Norton) Leoffler. Son of the late Alfred and Gertrude (Galvin) Leoffler, he was born in Manchester, NH. He was raised and educated in Stoughton before graduating from Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree, Class of 1976. He was a graduate of University of Massachusetts-Amherst, Class of 1984. Mr. Leoffler lived in Stoughton for 24 years before moving to Vermont for 20 years then returned to Stoughton 7 years ago. He was a salesman for many years, spending his last 4 years at Hankook Tire USA in Wayne, NJ. Mr. Leoffler was a greeter and Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Brockton. He was a 4th Degree Knight at Knights of Columbus Council 200 in Stoughton. An avid sports fan, he also enjoyed cooking, traveling and especially spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Leoffler is survived by his children, Maggie and Stephen Leoffler both of Stoughton. He was the brother of William Leoffler and Margaret Reiche both of Brockton, Rosemary Leoffler of Sharon, Anne Schuler of Middleboro, Thomas Leoffler of Marshfield and Theresa Beauregard of Upton. He was the son-in-law of William and Barbara Norton of Stoughton and the brother-in-law of Karen and Michael Castro and Patrick Norton all of Stoughton. He is also survived by his best friend, John Cerilli of Whitman and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Wednesday, June 29 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Brockton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's name may be made to the YMCA Family Life Center Playground Project, c/o Erin Spaulding, 320 Main St., Brockton, MA 02301.
