John J. Kane

John J. Kane, 77, died at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Thursday, January 31 after a brief illness. He was the husband of 52 years of the late Lucille A. (Doyle) Kane. Born and educated in Boston, he was a resident of Stoughton since 1963. Mr. Kane was a Corporal in the U.S. Army and a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was the co-owner of Freaney Construction in Hyde Park for over 40 years until his retirement 10 years ago. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and caring for his grandchildren.

Mr. Kane is survived by his children, Karen A. Caddell and her husband Kevin N. and John J. Kane, Jr. and his wife Angela M. all of Stoughton, as well as his grandchildren, Sean K. Caddell, Kaylan L. Caddell, Jack and Patrick Kane and his great-granddaughter, Lucia Valadao. He was the brother of Mary Merner and Robert Kane both of W. Roxbury, Thomas Kane and Barbara Murphy both of Roslindale, Phillip Kane of Norwood, Anne Barry of Dedham and the late Martin and Michael Kane. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, February 4 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday 1-4 PM. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton. Donations in John's memory may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
