John T. Hurley

John T. Hurley, 79, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at his home after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Charlotte C. (Dors) Hurley. Born in Readville, he was raised in Milton and was a graduate of St. Ann's School, Boston College High School and Boston College. Mr. Hurley was a former member of the Army National Guard. He was the owner of John Hurley Landscaping, a company he founded in college and for which he worked for over 60 years. He enjoyed spending his winters in Port Charlotte, FL and his summers in Old Orchard Beach, ME for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time at the beach, listening to irish music and tending to his flower garden.
Mr. Hurley is survived by his two daughters, Elizabeth Hurley of Stoughton and Susan Hurley of Canton. He was the longtime companion of Patricia Derba of Stoughton. He is also survived by his two grandsons, Matthew Hurley and Jake Hurley and his cousin William Berry of Hyannis and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Milton Cemetery, Milton. Donations in John's memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Avenue, Suite 6, Waltham, 02451.
