John H. "Jack" Hill

John H. "Jack" Hill, 78, a resident of Hanson, died peacefully at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston on Friday, February 14, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Dixie Mosher-Hill. Son of the late Kenneth A. and Margaret (Mahoney) Hill, he was born in Boston and raised in Stoughton. Jack attended Stoughton High School before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. He served as a Seaman for over 3 years and was a Veteran of the Vietnam Era. Jack received his Bachelor's Degree from Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI and his Master's Degree in Criminology from Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA. He was a police officer for the City of Brockton for 32 years before retiring in 1996. He was currently still working for the Brockton Housing Authority, where he had worked for the past 20 years. He was a resident of North Carolina for over 3 years before residing in Hanson for the past 13 years. He was a member of the Massachusetts Police Association, the VFW in Hanson and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed playing golf and traveling.

In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by his children, Lisa M. Laranjo and her husband Thomas of Taunton, Danielle A. Hill of Whitman, John B. Hill of Pottstown, PA, Christopher M. Hill and his wife Julie of East Bridgewater and Patrick J. Hill and his wife Summer of Brockton. He was the step-father of Stephen Robinson and Jen Collins, Christopher Robinson and his wife Nanci, Daniel Robinson and his wife Sara and the late Timothy Robinson. He was the loving grandfather of Shannon, Christopher, Matthew, Brooke, Logan, Georgia, Ava, Kyle, Meghan, Alexis, Christian, Devon, Collin, Zoey, Gwyneth, Regan and Lilah and great-grandfather of Rosalie. He was the brother of Kenneth Hill and his wife June of Bridgewater and the late Robert Hill, Virginia Liss and her husband Bob, Dianne Fleenor, Debra Meireles and her husband John and Richard D. Hill, who passed away a week before Jack. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Maryann Hill of Mansfield and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Friday, February 21 at 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 11:30 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne on Friday at 1:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS, 66675.
