John Stratton Haffermehl, 77, of Stoughton, formerly of Canton, known to many as Johnny Flowers died at Milton Hospital on Wednesday, November 26 after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Frances "Jean" (Bailey) Haffermehl. He is also survived by his loving daughters, Debbie Homer of Stoughton, Brenda Vieira of Holbrook, Andrea Williams of Stoughton and Linda Gilman of AL, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Roger Haffermehl of Falmouth and the late Muriel Haffermehl. He was the beloved son of the late Forrest and Dorothy Haffermehl.
A lifelong resident of Canton before moving to Stoughton 4 years ago, Mr. Haffermehl was a graduate of Norfolk Agricultural School. He served in the U.S. Navy and was the owner of Canton Greenhouses for many years. He was a member of Sons of Italy in Braintree and the AMVETS in Avon and Stoughton. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, December 1 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday 2-5 PM. Burial will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
