John W. Grieco

OBITUARY INFORMATION:
John W. Grieco, 84, died Saturday, September 3 at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center, Brockton, following a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of Francine A. (Guenebeaud) Grieco. Born in East Boston, he was a graduate of East Boston High School. He was a navy veteran of World War II. During his four years of service he was in both Italy and North Africa. While serving in the Navy he met his wife. Mr. Grieco founded a poultry farm in Easton. After several years he relocated to Stoughton, where lived for the next 54 years, as he continued his poultry business. John also worked at the VA Hospital in Brockton. He began his career as an assistant nurse and at the time of his retirement he was working in the Alcohol Research Department. He belonged to the VFW East Boston Post. He was also an avid gardener, tending a large vegetable and flower garden. He was very fond of roses. Mr. Grieco was a Red Sox and Patriot fan. He also loved to hunt and fish.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Christine Grieco Gurley of Durham, North Carolina, Richard J. of East Bridgewater, Jack of Middleboro and Russell J Colleyville, Tx. He also is survived by seven grandchildren. He was the brother of Mary Spaulding of Marston Mills.

Visiting Hours at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St, Stoughton, Ma, Wednesday, Sept. 7, 5-8 PM. Memorial Service will be held Monday, Sept. 12 at Assembly of God Church, Corner of West Elm Street and Warren Ave, Brockton at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow with military honors at the VA National Cemetery, Bourne. Donations in John's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
