John D. Gill

John D. "Jack" Gill, 65, died at home unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 19. Son of the late Felix and Mary (Barrett) Gill, he was born in Brockton and was a lifelong resident of Stoughton. He was a graduate of Stoughton High School. Mr. Gill was an U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam Era. He worked in maintenance at Gill Machine in Stoughton for 25 years before retiring 6 years ago. He was a member of AMVETS Post 1977 in Stoughton. A Civil War buff, he also enjoyed Nascar and family genealogy.
Mr. Gill is survived by his brothers, Wayne Gill and his wife Elizabeth and Leslie Gill all of Stoughton, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, November 24 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday 2-5 PM. Burial will take place at the VA National Cemetery in Bourne.
