John P. Fresina, 82, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Monday, March 26, 2012 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of the late Lora A. (Fish) Fresina. Born in Italy, he was educated in Rockland schools. He was a resident of Stoughton for over 45 years. Mr. Fresina was a cook at Town Spa Pizza for many years before retiring 17 years ago. He also was a truck driver for Cirelli Foods in Brockton for 15 years. An avid Patriots fan, he also enjoyed watching the Red Sox.
He is survived by his children: John P. Fresina, Jr. of Brockton, Faith Kaplan of FL, Vittoria McDonough and her husband Timothy of Stoughton and Lisa Fresina of East Bridgewater. He was the brother of Mary Wright, Rose Dould and Mario Fresina all of Middleboro, John Fresina of Bedford and the late Grace Moberg, Rocco and Francis Fresina. He was the grandfather of 5 and was predeceased by his grandson David Kaplan. He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton on Friday, March 30 at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27), Stoughton on Thursday from 5-7 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215.
