John Joseph Enos, 77, died August 28, 2018, in Brockton due to complications of advanced Dementia. He was the son of the late John and Helen (Walsh) Enos late of Boston. John served in the US Navy as a seaman during the Vietnam Era, was a member of Underwater Demolition Team 22, and was trained as a Navy frogman, diver, and parachutist. John traveled the world as a mariner in the U.S. Merchant Marine and for over twenty-five years served as a US Postal Service letter carrier. He was a proud member of the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 34, a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, and for many years taught gymnastics at the Boston Young Men's Christian Union.
John is survived by his daughter, Amber Enos Cranston of Boston, his sister Helen LaForest of Albuquerque, NM, his brother William Enos, his nephew Peter Enos, and his grand-nephew Patrick Enos all of Boston, and his dear friends George Cocotas of Framingham, MA and Kevin Cranston of Boston. John was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Morrissey, his nephew Adam Enos, and his sister-in-law Pamela Enos late of Boston, and his brother-in-law William LaForest late of Hudson, FL.
John's remains will be inurned with military honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave, Bourne, on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 1 PM.
