John W. "Jack" Cresswell, 73, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. He was the husband of 48 years to Babe (D'Amore) Cresswell. Born in Boston, he was raised and educated in Dorchester and was a graduate of Boston English High School. He was a Veteran of the US Navy. Jack worked as an automobile sales manager for several area auto dealerships, including Central Dodge in Canton, for many years, retiring several years ago. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, playing cribbage, cooking, having lunch with his grandson and spending time with his beloved family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, John W. Cresswell, Jr. and his wife Sara of Easton and Jodi Cresswell of Stoughton. He was the son of Felicia "Jean" (Cozzo) McCourt of Bridgewater and the late John "Jack" McCourt. Jack was the brother of Joseph McCourt of Rockland and Jean Dumas of Uxbridge. He is also survived by his grandchildren John III, Ryan and Drew, and many nieces and nephews.
Private family services were held with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton. Donations in Jack's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1324 Belmont St, Brockton, MA 02301.
