John J. "Jack" Connors, 77, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at Carleton Willard Village in Bedford on Monday, January 4 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Madelyn L. (Cavanaugh) Connors. Born in Boston, he was a graduate of Boston Technical High School, Class of 1949. He was a resident of Stoughton for 48 years. Mr. Connors was an industrial photographer for F.M. Global in Norwood for 40 years before retiring in 1995. He was a member of the executive board for the Boys Scouts of America and a recipient of the Silver Beaver and the St. George Medal. Mr. Connors was also a member and past president of both the Stoughton Fish and Game and Stoughton Rotary Club. He was a historian for the Stoughton Grenadiers and the Chairman of the Building Committee for the Stoughton Fire Station on Central Street.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Connors is survived by his sons, Kenneth J. Connors and his wife Eileen and Jeffrey J. Connors and his wife Deborah all of Stoughton and Gregory J. Connors and his wife Eileen Lunin Connors of East Taunton. He is also survived by his brother, George K. Connors of CA, 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Saturday, January 9 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Friday 5-8 PM. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Jack's name may be made to B.C.
