John Anthony Chandler

John Anthony Chandler was born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 17, 1930 and was the second son born to Duncan Chandler and Acacia Lumbano.
Tony met the love of his life Josephine Kerr in 1952. Soon after they met he joined the United States Marines and proudly served his country as a forward observer in the Korean War.
Upon his return home he attended the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and later earned his Master's degree in Health Administration from Northeastern University.
In 1957, Tony popped the "question" to Josephine and together they began their journey of love which they shared with all those around them.
They moved from Boston to New Hampshire, returning to Boston and finally settling in Sharon, Massachusetts. Their four beautiful children are David, Dean, Bonnie, May-Lisa, and granddaughter, Stephanie.
Tony was a wonderful father and provider. He opened his heart and home to many family and friends who were in need of love and support. It was important to him to share with his children the opportunities that he did not have growing up. He exposed them to the arts, travel, sporting and cultural events to ensure that they were well rounded.
During his early years he enjoyed photography and spent many years as a member of the Sea and Surf Club, a Black fishing organization. He dabbled in playing golf, and Tony and Josephine were also members of Jack and Jill of America. Above all he enjoyed spoiling every child that came into his life (until they hit puberty).
He is survived by his wife Josephine Chandler, son and daughter-in-law, David and Laurel Chandler of Easton MA; son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Stacey Chandler of Aurora Illinois; daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Jimmie Johnson of Mansfield MA; daughter, May-Lisa Chandler of Sharon MA; brother, Mark Chandler of Brockton Ma, as well as, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
Tony was preceded in death by brothers, Edward Chandler and Victor Chandler.
He will be remembered by all those who knew him for his quick wit, unique sense of humor, and immense generosity. He is loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 28th at the Farley Funeral Home 358 Park St. (Rte. 27) Stoughton at 12:00 noon. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10AM - 12 Noon which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be at Rock Ridge Cemetery, Sharon.
