John F. "Jack" Catalano, 78, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Monday, October 25. He was the husband of 56 years of Shirley (Baptiste) Catalano. Born in Stoughton, he was educated in Stoughton schools. Mr. Catalano was a Private 1st Class in the U.S. Army and a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a shipping supervisor for Butler Automatic in Canton for 29 years before retiring at age 65. He also worked at Child World in Brockton for 29 years before retiring at age 65. After retirement he went to work at Toys-R-Us in Brockton for 17 years before retiring last year.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Catalano is survived by his children, Sheree Catalano-Keiser and her husband Eric Keiser of TX, Jay S. Catalano and his wife Laurie of Lakeville and Candace J. Catalano of Stoughton, as well as his grandchildren, Erin, Jon, Jennifer and Brian. He was the brother of Helen Lewis of Stoughton and the late Paul, Patrick and Harold Catalano. He is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, October 28 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Easton at 10 AM.
