John A. Casassa, 92, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at home on Tuesday, August 11. He was the husband of 48 years of Barbara B. (Chapman) Casassa. Born and educated in Boston, he was a resident of Stoughton for the past 51 years. Mr. Casassa was a Maintenance Supervisor with Mason Neilan Corporation in Norwood for 45 years before retiring 28 years ago. A great Cribbage player, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Casassa is survived by his children, Jack J. Casassa of Attleboro, Robert C. Casassa of Taunton and Jo-Ann Flanagan of Raynham. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marie G. Burns and his brother, Augustus Casassa. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of his life will be held at his home in Stoughton on Saturday, August 15 at Noon. Donations in John's name may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 1 Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368.
