Joaquin Camara, Jr., 67, a resident of Taunton, died at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Thursday, December 11, 2014. He was the husband of Eloise E. (Andress) Camara. Born in Boston, he was raised and educated in Stoughton before graduating from Boston Trade School. He resided in Taunton for the past 12 years. Joaquin was a bus driver for the Brockton Area Transit for 42 years before retiring 2 months ago. He was a member and former officer of the Local ATU 1547 in Brockton.
In addition to his wife, Joaquin is survived by his children, Janice L. LaRocque and her husband Jeremy of Highgate Center, VT and Joshua J. Camara, as well as his granddaughter, Sabrina LaRocque. He was the brother of Roberta Dempsey, Nona Raciti and David Raciti all of Sebring, FL, Barbara O'Handley of Stoughton and Kenneth Camara of Booth Bay, ME. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
His family would like to thank the complete staff at Goddard Brockton Kidney Center for Joaquin's care for the past 5 years and also the many caring people at Good Samaritan Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Sunday, December 14 at 4 PM. Visiting Hours prior from 2-4 PM. Donations in Joaquin's memory may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
