Joanne L. (Tighe) Marinilli, 71, died at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford on Thursday, January 1, 2015 after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Dominic A. Marinilli for 52 years. Daughter of the late Frederick and Louise (Gauthier) Tighe, she was born and raised in Quincy. Joanne was a graduate of North Quincy High School, Class of 1961 and Chandler Secretarial School in Boston. She also attended Stonehill College. Mrs. Marinilli was a resident of Marion for the past 6 years after living in Stoughton for 40 years. She was the office manager at Marinilli Associates Public Adjusters in Stoughton for over 30 years before retiring 2 years ago. Joanne was a member of the Massachusetts Audubon Society. She enjoyed traveling, skiing, bird watching, cooking and gardening. She also enjoyed gatherings with family and friends at the beach and in the White Mountains.
In addition to her husband, Joanne is survived by her sons, John A. "Jack" Marinilli and his wife Kathleen of Norton, Edward E. Marinilli and his wife Olga of Canton and Peter T. Marinilli of Avon, as well as her grandchildren, Edward, Mary, Kevin and Dominic Marinilli. She was the sister of Kenneth Tighe and his wife Lee of Savannah, GA and Joseph Tighe and his wife Susan of Abington. She was the niece of Robert Gauthier and is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, January 8 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 5-8 PM. Donations in Joanne's memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
