Joan M. Wood

Joan Marie (Costello) Wood, 78, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Tower Hill Center in Canton on Friday, July 28, 2017. She was the wife of the late David Wood. Daughter of the late Earle and Myrtle (Atwood) Costello, she was born in Rockland and attended from Stoughton High School. Joan worked for Stoughton Laundry and Anton's Cleaners for over 30 years before retiring in 1990.

Joan is survived by her brothers, Peter E. Costello of Matawan, NJ and Eugene Johnson of Pennsylvania. She was grateful for the caring help during her illness from her lifelong friends, Kathy and Kendall Morrison and their daughters, Donna, Linda and Lisa, her cousin Mary Boulier and her daughter Barbara, and her sister-in-law and brother-in law, Marilyn and Thomas Sage. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, August 12 at 10 AM. Interment will take place at Maplewood Cemetery, Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's memory may be made to Kindred Hospice, 130 Rumford Ave., Suite 211, Auburndale, MA 02466.
