Joan (Hampe) Willis, 66, died suddenly on March 15, 2009 while vacationing in Key Largo, FL. The daughter of Kendall and Eleanor Hampe she was born on May 8, 1942 in Stoughton. A resident of W. Bridgewater, she is survived by her loving husband Richard E. Willis; sons, Ronald E. Willis, wife Valerie, children Joshua, Evan and Alexandra; Scott R. Willis, Richard E. Willis Jr., children Daniel and Jennifer; sister Martha E. Empey and her husband Raymond F., sister-in-law Beverly Johnson and husband Robert, brother-in-law James Willis and wife Carol; in addition to nieces and nephews.
Joan was a member of Saint Ann's Catholic Church in West Bridgewater and Saint Justin's Catholic Church in Key Largo, FL. Joan worked many years for Richard Wright LTD and had continued to work part time when not in Florida.
In addition to her devotion to her family, Joan loved gardening and quilting. Joan loved to read and enjoyed her winters in Key Largo. Joan will be lovingly remembered for her generous spirit and compassion toward others.
Funeral Prayers will be offered from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Monday, April 27 at 8 PM. Visiting Hours prior 6-8 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's name may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445.
