With heavy hearts, we'd like to share that Joan Frances (Clifford) Kelly passed away on September 5th surrounded by her beloved family. For those who had the joy of knowing Joan, these hearts are left with an abundance of kindness, experiencing her benevolent soul. She is the wife of the late Paul F. Kelly. Daughter of the late Michael and Johanna Clifford, Joan was born and raised in Southie. Joan was a resident of Stoughton for almost 60 years. She loved coordinating the town STOYAC softball league and was an active and devoted parishioner of St. James Church, teaching CCD for many years. After raising their five children, Joan and Paul traveled the world together. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Joan always put her family in the forefront of her life.
Joan is the mother of Joan Conti and her husband Mark of Franklin, Paula Davis and her husband Brian of Newburyport, Barbara Corrigan of Stoughton, James Kelly and his husband Brian Downer of N. Reading, and Michelle "Mickey" Doherty of Wrentham. She is the beloved grandmother of Maxwell Conti and his wife Becca, Nicole Salim and her husband Jason, Rebecca Davis and her fiancé Derek Leary, Rachel Davis, Patrick, Nicholas, and Kelly Corrigan and Samantha, Jack and Kate Doherty. Joan is the sister of Patrick Clifford of Duxbury and the late Mary Mulrennan and Noreen Flynn. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27) Stoughton, on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at the St. James Church, Stoughton at 11 am. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4 pm to 7 pm at Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rte. 27), Stoughton. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
