Joan (Guaragna) Campanello, 80, died Sunday, May 22, 2016, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was the wife of the late Joseph Campanello. Born and raised in Dorchester, she was educated in Boston Schools and was a graduate of Girls High School. Mrs. Campanello was a resident of Stoughton for over 50 years. She worked as a Customer Service Representative at Liberty Mutual for over 10 years, retiring several years ago. Prior to that she owned the restaurant "Papa Louies" in Easton and owned a catering business. She was an avid reader and, in her free time, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Mrs. Campanello was the mother of Joseph L. Campanello and his wife Lesa McGarvey of Mansfield, Joanne Campanello and Jacqueline Benson and her husband, Joan's beloved son in law Jeffrey A. Benson. She was the grandmother of Jeffrey J. Benson and his wife Christine, Jessica Benson-Carter and her husband Gregory Carter and Jordan Benson. She was the sister of the late Marilyn Lebiedz and Louise Doherty. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, May 26 at 9:30 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Joan's memory may be made to the MSPCA, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130.
