Jilda M. "Mamie" (Jardin) Giles, 89, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater on Friday, March 21, 2014. She was the wife of the late John F. Giles. Born in Stoughton, she was a graduate of St. Mary's School and Stoughton High School. Mrs. Giles was a homemaker. She was active at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. She enjoyed making rosary beads and crocheting baby blankets for the HEAL Program at Newton Wellesley Hospital.
Mrs. Giles is survived by her children, Rosemary Murphy of Bridgewater, Teresa Taylor and Susan Baez both of Stoughton, John "Jay" Giles, Jr. of Manchester, NH and Edward Giles and his wife Maura of East Bridgewater. She was the sister of Edward Jardin and his wife Sandra of Stoughton, Sr. Theresa Jardin, CSJ of Brighton and the late Manuel and Albert Jardin and Mary Cabral. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Friday, March 28 at 10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
