Jennie B. (Rogodzinski) Dlugokecki, 80, a longtime resident of Stoughton, MA, died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 4, 2007, at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was the wife of the late Zigmund Dlugokecki. Born in Norton, she was raised in Chelsea and was a graduate of Chelsea Schools. Jennie was a resident of Stoughton from 1956 until 1993. During that time, she held jobs at Jordan Marsh in Boston and at Anton's Cleaners, Ark-Les Switch and John J. Rogers Insurance, all in Stoughton. Jennie was also the full time care giver for her husband who had been stricken with muscular dystrophy for many years. Upon Zigmund's death in 1993, she moved to Greeneville, TN, to live with her son and his family. In 1998, she again relocated with her family to Naperville, IL. Then in 2004, Jennie returned to her roots in Stoughton.
Jennie was a faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was known to her grandchildren and many others as "Bubbie." Bubbie was incredibly supportive of the people she cared about. Whether it was attending dance recitals, graduations, or simply just being there, she made you feel like she was your biggest fan. Bubbie also loved to shop. She always kept us laughing as she stockpiled away knick-knacks and Christmas presents (often a year in advance). She also never let birthdays or holidays - even some of the minor ones - pass without letting her loved ones know that she remembered and cared. Bubbie was a woman who cherished special memories and told stories to remind all of us how blessed we were to have one another. She will be missed and remembered always.
She is survived by her son, Andrew Dlugokecki of Naperville, IL, her sister Stasia Uminski of Stoughton, her three grandchildren, Anne, Julie, and John Dlugokecki and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Zigmund, she was predeceased by her brother Adam Rogodzinski and her daughter in-law Phyllis Dlugokecki.
