Jeffrey J. Hill

Jeffrey J. Hill, 63, died unexpectedly on October 19, 2024 at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Born in Brockton, son of the late Clayton S. and Janice M. (Walker) Hill, he was raised and educated in Easton and was a 1979 graduate of Oliver Ames High School. It was in high school that he met Kathy Rutledge and they married in 1982 and, together, raised their two beloved sons. They have been residents of Middleboro for over 36 years. Jeffrey worked as a machinist at Fuller Box in Attleboro and later was the Housekeeping Manager at Evanswood Nursing Home in Kingston for several years. He retired many years ago. Jeff was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting and a good spirited political discussion. He loved his dogs and golfing, especially at Poquoy Brook in Lakeville and enjoyed going to concerts, including two Metallica concerts with his sons this summer. Above all, his most cherished times were spent in the company of his boys, his wife and his pets.

 Jeff is survived by his wife Kathy J. (Rutledge) Hill, and his two sons, Jeffrey J. Hill, Jr. and Christopher Hill, all of Middleboro. He was the brother of Clayton S. Hill, Jr. and his wife Frances of Taunton, Russell Hill of Pocasset and Melody Hill of Middleboro. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

 Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 4-7 PM with Funeral Prayers following at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeff’s memory may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, POB 849168, Boston, MA 02284.
