Jean S. (Johnson) Levine, 75, a longtime resident of Brockton, died at home on Wednesday, December 23 after a brief illness. She was the wife of Louis Levine. Daughter of the late Elmer and Lydia (Jackle) Johnson, she was born in Centerville. She was lovingly raised by her uncle and aunt, the late Adolf and Erna Jackle. Mrs. Levine was a graduate of Girls Trade School in Boston. She was a resident of Brockton since 1965. She was a homemaker and also worked as a hairdresser at Harper Method Salon at Jordan Marsh in Boston for several years. In her free time she enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and spending time on Cape Cod.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Levine is survived by her children, Kimberly Levine Kent Wood and her husband Albert E. Wood of Hanover and Robert L. Levine and his husband Andreas Waldkirch of Roslindale. She was the sister of Adolph Jackle, Jr. of Brockton, Karl Jackle of Stoughton and Ruth Reed of Hull. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Monday, December 28 from 5-8 PM. Funeral Services private. Donations in Jean's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
