Jean E. (O'Connor) Currie, 67, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Wednesday, June 6, at the New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton after a long illness. She was the wife of Robert J. Currie. Born in South Boston, she was raised there and was a graduate of South Boston Schools. Mrs. Currie worked as a Manager for Equiserve in Canton for many years, retiring in 2002. After her retirement, she volunteered at the Stoughton Police Department for several years. In her free time, she enjoyed swimming at the Easton YMCA, Reading and was an animal lover.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Sharon C. Taylor of Franklin, Clare A. Goulette of Plymouth and Robert M. Currie of Medfield. She was the sister of John O'Connor of TX, Geraldine Gingras of Hyde Park, Joan McDonald of FL, James O'Connor and Walter O'Connor both of Stoughton, Joseph O'Connor of CO, Paul O'Connor of Whitman, Ruth Ravesi of Canton. She was predeceased by her twin sister June Dawson. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Nicholas C. Goulette, Danyelle A. Goulette, Samuel R. Currie and Katherine S. Currie.
Funeral prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Monday 5-8 PM. Donations in Jean's name may be made to American Lung Assn, 460 Totten Pond Rd., Suite 400, Waltham, MA 02451. Burial will be private.
