Janice M. (Maver) Dyer, age 79, passed away on December 9, 2022, at the Copley at Stoughton after a period of declining health. Daughter of the late Pauline (Moore) and Lloyd George Maver, Janice was born, raised, and educated in Brockton and a 1961 graduate of Brockton High School. In 1963, she married Kenneth J. Dyer, and together they spent 36 years of marriage and raised two beloved daughters, before his passing in 1999. She was a dedicated mother, homemaker, and grandmother. She worked as a Secretary at Donovan Associates in Easton and Brockton for many years before retiring. In her spare time, she loved gardening, playing cribbage, painting ceramics, and socializing with her Red Hat friends.
Janice is survived by her children Marsha J. Dyer of Easton, and Diane P. Hewitt and her husband Paul of Mansfield. She is also survived by her siblings George Maver and his wife Joan of Easton and Paula Maver-Hartwell of Raynham. She leaves behind her grandchildren Lloyd and Laine Hewitt, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family extends sincere gratitude to Raynham Fire, Good Samaritan Hospital, and Copley Stoughton for their help and excellent care.
Visiting Hours will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27) Stoughton, on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 10-11:30 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 AM. Interment to follow at Melrose Cemetery in Brockton. Donations in Janice’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
