James G. Troy

James G. Troy, 74, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 15. He was the husband of Louise H. (Rumpf) Troy. Born in Boston, he was a graduate of Hyde Park High School. Mr. Troy lived in Stoughton for the past 50 years. For over 40 years, Mr. Troy worked as a Service Man for the Commonwealth Gas Company in Boston. After his retirement, he worked as a crossing guard for the Stoughton Schools for the last 3 years. Mr. Troy was known as "Fluff" to his friends at the Town Spa and he enjoyed bowling in the Town Spa Bowling League. He was a member of the Polish White Eagles in Brockton. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling to Foxwoods and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife Louise, he is survived by his children: James G. Troy of IL, Gary W. Troy and his wife Brenda of Weymouth, Lawrence M. Troy and his wife Diane of Mansfield, Susan M. Troy of Quincy, Kathleen M. Wood of Stoughton, Donna J. Cimeno and her husband Ken of Walpole and the late Michael C. Troy and his wife Kathy of WI. He was the brother of Margaret "Gerry" Morse and Mary Thompson both of Hyde Park, Madeline "Bebe" Aprea of NH and the late Elizabeth "Dolly" Parker and Charles "Buddy" Troy. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:15 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday 4-8 PM. Donations in his name may be made to the American Heart Assn, 20 Speen St., Framingham, 01701. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
