James E. Sullivan

James E. Sullivan, 76, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Seasons Hospice House in Milton on Tuesday, August 23, 2016. He was the husband of Theresa B. (Coughlin) Sullivan. Born in Tewksbury, he was educated in South Boston. He was a resident of Stoughton for 56 years. A member of the Teamsters Local 25 in Charlestown, Mr. Sullivan worked as an oil burner technician, plumber and pipefitter for many years. He loved camping and gardening, especially his roses.

In addition to his wife, James is survived by his children, James Sullivan, Jr. and his wife Linda of Taunton, Kelly Freeman of Rockport and Ann Lydstone and her fiancé Craig Nedell of Bridgewater. He was the brother of Robert Sullivan and his wife Carol of Rochester, NH, Jean Shifflet and her husband Ed "Butchie" of Braintree and William Sullivan and his wife Eileen of Kingston. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, August 27 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 5-7 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in James' memory may be made to American Heart Assn., PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241.
