James K. Paquette

James K. Paquette, 88, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at home on Thursday, June 10 after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of 67 years of the late Mary T. (Kirby) Paquette who passed away on June 5, 2010. Born in Souris, PEI, Canada, he was raised in Boston and educated in Boston Schools. He was a resident of Stoughton for 46 years. Mr. Paquette was a Carpenter's Mate 3rd Class in the U.S. Navy Seabees and a Veteran of World War II. After the service, he was a street vendor in Boston for several years before owning an ice cream truck from 1948-1951. He was a machinist from 1951-1957. Mr. Paquette then became the owner of Paquette Machine and Tool Company in Avon from 1957-2009. An avid bowler, he enjoyed trips in his motor home and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Paquette is survived by his children, Maryellen Grayden-Porter and her husband George Porter of Berkley and James K. Paquette, Jr. and his wife Mary of Stoughton, as well as his grandchildren, Terri Chaves, Lori Grayden, Susan Paquette and Keith Paquette and his great-grandson, Brian Chaves. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
