James Michael Moore, 67, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home following a heroic battle with pancreatic cancer on Monday, February 24, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Lisa M. (Correia) Moore for 45 years. Son of the late Frederick W. and Marie (Ceurvels) Moore, he was born in Anchorage, Alaska and raised in Stoughton. He was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1975. Jim served in the U.S. Air Force from March 1976 til March 1979 and was honorably discharged with the rank of Airman 1st Class. He was a construction worker for the Local 223 in South Boston for over 30 years and worked extensively on the Big Dig in Boston before retiring at age 62. He was an avid gardener and his yard was certified as a National Wildlife Habitat that he maintained passionately. He was an avid outdoorsman and adventure seeker, traveling the world for new adventures. Jim enjoyed bird watching and the architecture and history of Boston. His greatest joy was spending time with his beloved family.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his children, Kellie M. Noonan and her husband Daniel of Needham and Christopher J. Moore and his wife Ozlem of Westwood. He will forever be the loving “Cup-Cup” to his grandchildren, Caroline and William Noonan and Logan Moore. He was the brother of Theresa “Tammy”, Catherine, Judith and the late Christopher Moore and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, February 27 from 4-7 PM. Funeral Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 28 at 11 AM. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
