James R. Harvey, 62, died Monday, March 2, at his home after a long illness. He was the husband of Eileen G. (Goldman) Harvey. Born in Brockton, he was raised in Brockton and attended Brockton Schools. Mr. Harvey was a resident of Stoughton since 1981. He worked as an Automobile Technician for over 40 years at several area auto shops, including Albert Motors in Needham and Norwood Dodge in Norwood. He was an ASE Certified Mechanic and was a Chrysler Master Technician. A former Stoughton Little League and Stoughton Youth Soccer Coach, in his free time, he enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, hunting and above all, spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Stephanie Fishman, Michael J. Harvey and Allison M. Harvey, all of Stoughton. He was the brother of Raymond W. Harvey, Jr. of VT, Louise Maile of Brockton and the late John L. Harvey. He is also survived by his grandsons: Jeremy Fishman and Matthew Fishman.
Funeral services will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Wednesday Evening, March 4 at 7:30 PM. Visiting Hours prior to service from 4 PM. Memorial Observances will be held at his late residence on Thursday and Saturday from 7-9 PM. At Jim's request, no flowers will be accepted.
