James J. Hartman, 68, died Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at his home after a brief illness. He was the Loving Husband of 46 years of Jean M. (Gillooly) Hartman. Born in Boston, he was raised in Roxbury and was a graduate of Boston Latin High School. He was a resident of Brockton for over 30 years before moving to Stoughton 8 years ago. He worked as a Draftsman and Machinist for General Devices in Braintree for 15 years and Instron in Canton for over 30 years. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, skiing, traveling and playing in his weekly family card game.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, James J. Hartman Jr. and his wife Jennifer and Michael J. Hartman and his wife Kristen all of Easton, Christine M. Brennan and her husband Stephen of E. Bridgewater and Catherine M. Barton and her husband Christopher of Dartmouth. He was the proud grandfather of Michael, Matthew, Johnathan, Lauren, Brian, Sarah and Ava. He was the brother of Thomas, Ruth Ann and the late Charles and Diane.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Friday at 8:45 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Easton at 10 AM.
