James W. Dwyer

James W. Dwyer, 87, died Monday, December 24 at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. He was the husband of 68 years of the late Rita T. (McNulty) Dwyer. Born in Boston, he was educated in Dedham schools. Mr. Dwyer was a resident of Brockton since 1989, previously living in Canton for 40 years. He was also a winter resident of Naples, FL for many years. Mr. Dwyer was an U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, serving with the 82nd Airborne. He was a Foreman for General Electric in Medford for 35 years before retiring in 1985. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf.

Mr. Dwyer is survived by his son, Paul S. Dwyer of Brockton, as well as his siblings, John Regan of Burlington, Robert Regan of Woburn, and Thomas Regan of Medford. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, James W. Dwyer, Jr. and his siblings Marjorie Sampson, Walter Regan, Ralph Regan. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Funeral Prayers will be offered from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, December 29 at 9:30 AM. Visiting Hours Friday 5-8 PM. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Canton.
