James F. Cahill

James F. Cahill, 75, died unexpectedly, Thursday, January 5, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of Ethel "Margie" (Bates) Cahill. Born in Boston, he was raised and educated in Jamaica Plain and Hyde Park. He was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School. He also graduated from Rittner's School of Floral Design. He was a resident of Stoughton for over 41 years. Mr. Cahill was the owner and founder of the New England School of Floral Design in Norton for over 30 years, which was his passion. He trained thousands of people to work in the floral industry, whether for personal enjoyment or running successful floral shops. He was a member of the Connecticut Florist Association. In his free time, he enjoyed doing yardwork and spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Barbara A. Cahill of Stoughton, Kathleen M. Vitiello of Norton and Kenneth J. Cahill and his spouse Donald Colon of New Bedford. He was the grandfather of Keith A. and Kelsey L. Vitiello and the great grandfather of Anthony J. Vitiello and Zachary T. Boncorddo. He was the brother of Francis C. Cahill of NJ and William E. Cahill and his wife Patricia of Norton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Tuesday at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:30AM. Visiting Hours Monday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. Floral Tributes are welcome, for those who wish donations in Jim's memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 101A First Ave, Suite 6, Waltham, 02451.
