James Edward Cabral, 75, a longtime resident of Middleboro, died peacefully at Lahey Clinic in Burlington on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Paula A. (Graham) Cabral for 51 years. Son of the late Edward J. Cabral and Mildred (Fowler) Clark, he was born in Brockton and raised in Stoughton. He was a graduate of Stoughton High School and attended Fisher College. Jim was a Specialist 4th Class in the U.S. Army and a decorated Veteran of the Vietnam War. He resided in Randolph for 21 years before moving to Middleboro in 1995. He worked in the Water Department for the Stoughton Department of Public Works for 25 years, retiring as Foreman in 2004. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, building and cooking but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his son, Scott J. Cabral and his wife Jana of Middleboro and his grandchildren, Brandon, Makayla and Hunter Cabral. He was the brother of Judith Girard of Andover, Sandra McDonough of Taunton, Edward Cabral and his wife Susan of Wareham and Lisa Cabral of Plympton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, December 6 from 10:30 AM–12:30 PM followed by Funeral Prayers at 12:30 PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim‘s memory may be made to MassFishHunt at https://massfishhunt.mass.gov/donations.
