James F. Burns, Jr., 57, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Sunday, October 30. He was the husband of Jean E. (Wilder) Burns. Son of the late James F. and Marion B. (McGillicuddy) Burns, he was born in Boston, educated in Stoughton schools and graduated from Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School, Class of 1972. Mr. Burns was an electrician and a member of the I.B.E.W. Local 223 in Lakeville for 30 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 200 and Sons of Italy both in Stoughton. He was an avid Patriots fan.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Burns is survived by his daughters, Jessica M. Burns and Lindsey M. Burns both of Brockton. He was the "Papa" of J.J., Julian, Julina, Jenasis and Mimi. He was the brother of Judith A. Kotta of Mansfield and the late Maureen Ginsburg and Marjorie Burns. He is also survived by a niece.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Thursday, November 3 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 4-8 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
