James J. Bazinet, 65, a longtime resident of Mansfield, died at Cambridge Hospital on Monday, February 13, 2017 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Eileen M. (Leahy) Bazinet for 41 years. Son of the late James H. and Gloria F. (Febo) Bazinet, he was born in Somerville and raised in Somerville and Stoneham. James was a graduate of Stoneham High School, Class of 1970 and Suffolk University. He resided in Mansfield for the past 30 years. Mr. Bazinet was a certified fraud examiner and internal auditor, working at Leach & Gardner in Attleboro for over 10 years and the Foxboro Company for 5 years before retiring 5 years ago. He was a member of the Town of Mansfield Finance Committee and Audit Committee, as well as the Democratic Town Committee. An avid history buff, he loved to read and was an expert on World War II aircrafts. He also loved to travel, especially to Hawaii.
In addition to his wife, James is survived by his daughter, Jennifer E. Bazinet of Mansfield.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, February 18 at 8:45 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, Mansfield at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, Mansfield.
