Jacqueline D. (Hogan) McBride, 76, died Friday, April 5, 2013, at the Kindred Specialty Hospital in Stoughton after a period of failing health. She was the wife of Edward A. McBride. Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in Dorchester and was a graduate of Dorchester High School. She was a resident of Brockton for over 55 years. She worked at Streeter Store Fixtures in Brockton for several years, then in the Consumer Division of the Attorney General's Office in Boston, under Francis X Bellotti for several years. Prior to her retirement she worked as a cosmetic consultant for Clinique at Macy's in Brockton. Jacquie was an active member of the Democratic Party, and energetically campaigned for many state and local candidates. She was an early Advocate for Chapter 766 for children with learning disabilities. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, spending time at the beach and discussing politics.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Dawn M. McBride and her longtime companion David Lenger of Easton, Edward W. "Butch" McBride and his wife Helen of Bridgewater, Anne M. Quinlan of Brockton and William J. McBride and his wife Jennifer Lynn of FL. She was the grandmother of Christopher, Alyssa, Billy and his wife Jennifer and Christian McBride, Jeffrey, Alex and Lauren Vaccaro and Corey and his wife Rachael and Ashley Quinlan. She was the sister of Patricia Crowley of Fairhaven and the late Helen Bougopoulos. She is also survived by her great granddaughter Ariana Sanchez and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Tuesday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Brockton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Monday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
