Jacinto T. Carlos, 82, died Sunday, May 9, 2021, at the Ruth McLain Hospice House in Braintree, after a period of failing health. Born in Pedro Miguel, on the island of Faial in the Azores, Portugal, he was raised and educate in Pedro Miguel. In 1961, he married Alexandrina Silveira and together, they moved their young family to the United States in 1967, and settled in Stoughton. He was a Veteran of the Portuguese Army. Mr. Carlos worked as a carpenter for several area firms, retiring at age 57. He enjoyed gardening and was known for splicing limbs of fruit trees to grow several types of fruit off the same tree. He also enjoyed working around his house and yard, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Alexandrina Carlos, he is survived by his two sons, Joseph A. Carlos of Brockton and Jesse Carlos of Foxboro. He was the brother of Maria Correia and Rosa Furtado, both of CA, Antonio Carlos of Canada and the late Jose Carlos and Francisco Carlos. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Prayers will be held in Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, May 14 at 9:30 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday, from 4-7 PM.
