Isidoro J. Lourenco, 90, died Monday, March 21, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Filomena C. (Silveira) Lourenco. Born in Ponta Delgada, Flores, Portugal, he was raised and educated in Flores. Mr. Lourenco raised his family there and worked as a farmer. He came to the United States and settled in Stoughton, where he made his home for many years. While living in Stoughton, he worked at Corcoran Shoe in Stoughton. In his free time, he enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden, watching TV and spending time with his family.
Mr. Lourenco was the father of Jose S. Lourenco and his wife Maria Lourenco and Maria Olivia Noia and her husband Jose A. Noia all of Stoughton. He was the grandfather of Janice Lourenco, Steven Noia and Nelson Lourenco. He was the brother of Conceicao Noia of New Bedford, Ana Dias of FL, Olivia Alves, Jorge Lourenco and Francisco Lourenco all of Portugal and the late Jose Lourenco, Antonio Lourenco, Maria Noia and Rev. Joao J. Lourenco. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, March 23 at 11 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 12 Noon. Visiting Hours Tuesday from 5-8 PM. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
