Isabel N. (Martins) Vasconcelos, 97, died Sunday, April 21, 2013 at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home in Stoughton. She was the wife of the late Lisandro F. Vasconcelos. Born in Flores, Azores, Portugal, she was raised and educated in Flores. She came to the United States in 1966 and settled in Stoughton. Mrs. Vasconcelos worked for Stoughton Elastic Web and Ark-Les Switch both in Stoughton for many years, retiring several years ago. She was very proud of being a United States Citizen. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, knitting, playing cards, reading and writing stories and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Francisco H. and Jose A. Vasconcelos both of Stoughton, Lisandro N. and Albino N. Vasconcelos both of Taunton and Maria Lucia Logan of NY. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son Luis Vasconcelos. She was the sister of Albino N. Martins of Canada and the late Jose and Caetano Martins and Maria Serpa. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Wednesday, April 24 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday, April 23 from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
