Isabel (Prieto) Dykeman, 64, died at her home in Easton on Friday, February 29, 2008. She was the wife of Louis E. "Dewey" Dykeman. Born in Columbia, she was raised and educated there and moved to the United States after high school. She was a graduate of Newman Prep in Boston and the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Dykeman was a resident of Easton for over 30 years. She worked as a Nurse at Mass. General for over 5 years. She also owned Sudsational Laundromat in Brockton for many years. An animal lover, she enjoyed feeding birds and animals, cooking, and traveling. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Elizabeth R. Morales and her husband John of Easton and Louis E. Dykeman III of Canton. She was the sister of Eduardo Prieto and Herminda Prieto both of Chelsea, Barbara Prieto, Maria Prieto and Maria Rodrigues all of Columbia. She is also survived by her grandchildren Valencia Morales and Gianni Morales.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Easton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Monday 4-8 PM. Donations in Isabel's memory may be made to MSPCA, 1300 W. Elm St. Ext., Brockton, 02301.
