Irene P. (Frates) Silva, 87, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Wednesday, July 30, 2014. She was the wife of George Silva. Born and raised in Taunton, she resided in Stoughton for many years. Mrs. Silva, along with her husband, owned A&W Root Beer Stand in Stoughton and Carvel's on the East Side of Brockton.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Silva is survived by her children, Deborah A. Fustolo and her husband Joseph of Stoughton, Rodney G. Silva and his wife Beverly of Taunton, Paula J. Bertram and her husband James of Stoughton and the late Kevin P. Silva. She was the grandmother of James Keding, Joseph Fustolo, Jani Leahy, Timothy Bertram, Kaitlyn Bertram and Nicholas Bertram, USAF. She was the sister of Evelyn Davis of Arizona and Stella Davis of Taunton. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James Church, 560 Page St., Stoughton on Tuesday at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours omitted. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
