Irene T. Reilly, 88, devoted wife of the late William E "Red" Reilly died peacefully Monday, February 26 at the Copley in Stoughton Nursing Home after a period of failing health. Irene was a lifelong resident of Stoughton and Craigville.

Born September 15, 1918, in Stoughton to the late Paul P. and Julia (Kublinskas) Tirelis, she was a 1937 graduate of Stoughton High School. In 1990 she was inducted into the Stoughton High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Mrs. Reilly also graduated from Massachusetts General Hospital Training School for Nurses. She worked as a Registered Nurse for the Stoughton School System for 25 years. She also served in various local hospitals and doctors' offices as well. She retired in 1989.

Irene was cherished by her family. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family and friends either at her home in Stoughton or on her porch in Craigville. A member of Immaculate Conception Church, Catholic Women's Guild, Stoughton Historical Society, and the Stoughton Woman's Club, she was also an avid gardener, accomplished painter, and a loyal Red Sox fan.

She was the mother of William E. Reilly Jr. and his wife Rose, Paul Reilly and his wife Christine, Elaine M. Roche and her husband Bill, all of Easton, Daniel J. Reilly of Stoughton and the late Maureen Comeaux and her husband George "Tex" of Easton. She was predeceased by her husband William E. "Red" Reilly, her daughter Maureen Comeaux and her siblings Alfred Tirelis and Broni Wells. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:15 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday 2:30-4:30 & 6:30-8:30 PM. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
